Things have been moving along very quickly, of late, and it seems like AFM is starting to get some of the recognition it deserves!
Heavy Metal, The Adult Illustrated Fantasy Magazine, in their March issue, called us "Certifiably one of the coolest e-zines to appear since the advent of the 'Net." !!! We certainly couldn't ask for higher accolades than that, now, could we? If any of our readers are unfamiliar with Heavy Metal (for shame!), we urge you to rush out to your local comic shop and pick up an issue, then detour to your local video rental place and rent BOTH of the movies, and when you get home spread the mag out on your desk, crank up the volume on the TV, crack open a cold one, log onto the 'Net and check out their site: www.HeavyMetal.com We KNOW you'll be hooked. (And when you get paid on Friday, you might wanna run out to the local computer store and pick up Heavy Metal/Ritual Entertainment's awesome F.A.K.K.2 PC game!). Heavy Metal is THE science fiction that your humble editor grew up on. In 1977, your seven-year-old editor was hidden away in his room learning the ropes of scifi, plumbing the depths of his imagination, and getting ahead on the erotic facts-o'-life (a.k.a. the birds and the bees)--all within the pages of his favorite magazine. He's been a subscriber ever since. It does not do justice to say that to be regarded so highly in the pages of HM is an honor. It is more like a dream come true... In other news, things are swiftly moving along with "The NUKE Brothers" film. If you haven't already, we urge you to check out The NUKE Brothers Home Page -- there you'll find some new teaser posters, and some wonderful MP3s by the Nuke Bros band, The Buzzrats! We'll also be opening a "Nuke Brothers store" within the next few weeks. There you'll find all sorts of "Nuke Bros" promotional merchandise: T-shirts, stickers, Buzzrats CDs, and posters. You'll even be able to preorder "The NUKE Brothers" on VHS! So keep on checking back--it'll be up soon. And remember, every single penny that you spend on "NUKE Bros" merchandise goes into the film's production costs. You can help make this apocalyptic vision a reality! Finally, we just finished shooting a trailer for the film, and we hope to have it up for download by the time AFM #6 is out (March 30). So stay tuned--things are moving now! --Scott C. Carr, Editor
