Life is not the movies.
That's what my parents told me. That's what my teachers taught me. Life is not the movies... life is not the movies... The movies--the so-called "picture show"--are little more than a glamorous, glorified version of reality. In reality, people die--in the movies, they may die, but they are also immortal. In the movies, no one ever has to go to the bathroom. No one ever has to scratch a mosquito bite, pop a blister, feed the cat. In the movies, no one has to go to work... Would that life was more like the movies. In real life, nuclear war would be bad. Famine would be horrific, a plague would be unthinkable. A zombie-nightmare just couldn't happen. The meteor would extinct us all. And the Rapture would never quite get off the ground--rather, it would most likely stutter and stall due to lack of interest... But in the movies, things would be different--we would be heroes. Life would be great. Survival would mean more than just paying the electric and consolidating your credit cards. In the movies, you could venture out into the haunted wastes, ride off into the radioactive sunset, settle into the blasted twilight. You'd be in-shape, immune, and in control. You'd be a post-apocalyptic killing machine... not an administrative assistant. So c'mon--let's go to the movies! AFM is proud to announce our new partnership with Blue Moon Productions. Together we will be working on an original post-apocalyptic film, tentatively titled The Nuke Brothers. Shooting will begin early next summer--promotion will begin much sooner. We'll be announcing all sorts of contests, games, interactive fun, polls, reader input, giveaways, and investment information as the project develops. It's sure to be a fun winter and fall--So stayed tuned! --Editor, Scott C. Carr
